Justice
What is mine is mine; and what is yours is mine also.
Truth is the first casualty of war.
In America, you must have "standing", whatever that is, before the courts will even hear your case.
The U.S. Supreme Court rejected a lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union that would challenge the administration's National Security Agency warrantless illegal wiretapping of American citizens' communications, conducted in secret, without comment.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit ruled that because the government had properly withheld information about the program by invoking a doctrine known as the "state secrets program", the plaintiffs could not show that their communications had been monitored, and therefore lackedn "standing" to bbring the case. The case is ACLU vs. NSA, 07-468 (Associated Press 2/19/08)

Views of the Founding Fathers
James Madison: What influence in fact have ecclesiastical
establishments had in Civil Society? In some
instances they have been seen to erect a
spiritual tyranny on the ruins of Civil
authority; in many instances they have been
seen upholding the thrones of political
tyranny; in no instance have they been seen
the guardians of the liberties of the people.
Samuel Adams: Our enemies have made it an object to
eradicate from the minds of the people in
general a sense of true religion and virtue in
hopes thereby the more easily to carry their
point of enslaving them.
Benjamin Franklin: That the most acceptable service we render
Him
is doing good to His other children.
As to Jesus of Nazareth...I apprehend [his
religion] has received various corrupt
changes.
John Adams: Millions of fables, tales, legends have been
blended with both Jewish and Christian
revelation that have made them the most bloody
religion that ever existed.
The duty of doing no wrong, but all the good I
can.
Thomas Jefferson: I have ever judged of the religion of others
by their lives.
To the corruptions of Christianity I am indeed
opposed, but not to the genuine precepts of
Jesus himself.
The mass of mankind has not been born with
saddles on their backs, nor a favored few,
booted and spurred, ready to ride them
legitimately for the Grace of God.
The Christian philosophy,--the most sublime
and benevolent, but most perverted system that
ever shone on man.

Mohatma Gandhi: I would be a Christian if it weren't for the
Christians.
Reinhold Niebuhr: I think one of the great heresies of
Protestantism is the individualistic heresy.
The great divide is between people who want to
be pure (the first Commission) and those who
want to be responsible (the second Commission)
